2015 MMC Schedule

The Metrobank Foundation, Inc.(MBFI), the Mathematics Teachers Association of the Philippines (MTAP), and the Department of Education (DepEd), in cooperation with First Metro Investment Corp. (First Metro) announce the launch of the 2015 Metrobank-MTAP-DepEd Math Challenge (MMC) which will run from January to March 2015.

The competition is open to all elementary and secondary public and private school students nationwide. The deadline for submission of application to all DepEd Divisions is on December 5, 2014.

The elimination level will be on January 16 for elementary and on 17  for secondary level. Elimination level qualifiers will advanced to division finals on 5th and 6th of February for primary and secondary schools respectively.

2 weeks after the division finals, champions of division finals nationwide will compete for the regional finals on February 20 and on March 13, and 14 will be the national finals for written and team orals respectively to be held in Metrobank Plaza Auditorium, Makati City.

According to the the note posted by MMC Official facebook page, the 2014 MMC has attracted 568,021 students from elementary and high school levels representing 39,002 schools in the elimination rounds of the competition. The annual Math Challenge produces national winners who get to compete and eventually win in international competitions.

Among them are Carmela Lao and Adrian Reginald Sy, both 2011 MMC national winners who reaped a silver medal in the 51st and 55th International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO).
